Instructions for converting the DVI board

This article describes how to replace the DVI board of the CONTROL if the “Panel G2” flickers, and how to install and test the new board.

1. Preparation - Tools and Materials

To replace the DVI board, it is essential to have a clean and organized workspace.

The CONTROL must be powered off and disconnected from all connections and cables before beginning the replacement process!

The following tools are required:

  • 5 Allen key
  • 5 nut with adapter tool
  • Loctite blue (medium strength)5 Allen key 5 nut with adapter tool Loctite blue (medium strength)

Material:

  • New DVI board
  • 2x threaded bolts (alternatively, thoroughly remove the Loctite residue from the old threaded bolts)

2. Disassembly

  1. Remove the back plate (4x Allen screws).
  2. Remove the USB and HDMI cables.
  3. Remove the threaded bolt.
  4. Remove the DVI board and disconnect the circuit board connector.
  5. Remove the DVI board.

3. Installation

  1. Remove the new DVI board from the packaging and place the old DVI board in the packaging.
  2. Plug the new DVI board into the PCB connector.
  3. Plug in the USB cable
  4. Connecting the HDMI cable
  5. Inserting the DVI board into the housing
    1. To do this, press the circuit board discreetly downwards
    2. Push the USB and HDMI cable from the base of the housing upwards through the cable gland. There is a metal edge approx. 0.5 cm above the base of the housing where the cables can get caught.
    3. Ensure that the cables are not trapped or submerged.
    4. If the circuit board does not slide down properly, the USB and HDMI cables are caught on the edge of the sheet metal from step 5.b.. In this case, the USB and HDMI cables must be pushed further upwards.
  6. Position the DVI board correctly and check the USB and HDMI cables again
  7. Take the new threaded bolts, apply a drop of Loctite to them and screw them in one turn. Alternatively, thoroughly remove the Loctite residue from the old threaded bolts, apply a drop of Loctite and screw in both bolts one turn.

  8. Hand-tighten both threaded bolts.
  9. Tighten the back plate (4x Allen screws).
  10. Connecting the DVI panel.
  11. Connect the IEC plug. Then switch on and start the CONTROL.
  12. Test the function of the CONTROL image and touch on the DVI panel

4. resumption of operations

CONTROL can now be fully reconnected to the system. Make sure that all connections are connected correctly to resume operation smoothly.
